Old City i.e. the location of Meal Ticket World Headquarters is something of a coffee dead zone. Sure there are coffee shops but they're not exactly up to our fair trade, pour over standards.
Happily today all of that has changed with the grand opening of Menagerie Coffee, an absolutely lovely newcomer to 18 S. 3rd Street. The airy cafe features rustic, repurposed wood with a few mid-century touches thrown in for good measure.
On the coffee menu are a variety of offerings from Ceremony Coffee out of Annapolis and Dogwood from Minneapolis for pour over and espresso drinks. Menagerie is sourcing dairy from two local farms, Tricking Springs and Maplehofe.
As far as eats go pastries from Narberth's Au Fournil are available along with Flying Monkey cookies and for something a little more substantial there is a small, rotating menu of made to order sandwiches. Today Menagerie is offering a ham and havarti on brioche, an heirloom caprese, and a turkey, brie and apple butter on pumpernickel.
