Here at Meal ticket the bulk of our Jersey eating adventure are limited to the chain restaurant variety (we're looking at you, Cheesecake Factory and Pei Wei) or the beloved Pub. But as of today there's another reason to heard over the bridge.
Marc Vetri and company have opened up the second outpost of Osteria (400 New Jersey Route 38) at the Moorestown Mall. We had a chance to preview the new space last week and its got all of the same warm vibes as the north Broad original, no food court ambiance here (check out the space over at Zagat). Mike Deganis has left Alla Spina to take over the head chef position and is killing it with house-made pastas favorites like chicken liver rigatoni with cipolline onions and sage, wood-fired pizzas including the egg-topped Lombarda and an impressive and sharable house-aged ribeye Fiorentina. Dominique Piscetella is heading up the pastry program and turning out incredible dolci like bomboloni with blood orange marmelata and a dreamy polenta budino with candied hazelnuts. And unsurprisingly beverage director Steve Wildy is killing it with the wine list.
Dinner is being served seven nights a week and lunch is kicking off next Monday, November 25th.
