We all know that Jeremy Nolen is doing totally awesome things at Brauhaus Schmitz (718 South St.) with his totally unique take on new German cooking. But what you might not know is that Nolen is also in a totally awesome band with a bunch of other industry dudes who you might be familiar with.
Big in Munich features Nolen on guitar, Cheu Noodle Bar's Ben Puchowitz on guitar, Brauhaus' Guy Juravich on drums vocals by Johnny Brenda's Gregg Gordon and bassist Steve Harner who isn't in the biz but is a Brauhaus neighbor at South Street's Bridgeset Sounds.
You can check out Big in Munich's covers of classic rock and 80s glam faves tonight at Brauhaus at 8 p.m. with Nolen's dad's band The Ron Nolen Experience is opening.
Be on the lookout for Neshaminy Creek Brewing specials, some rock n' roll complimentary snacks and records and cds for sale from Nolen's band from the mid-late 90s. Here's a little bit more info about Nolen's pre-Brauhaus musical career:
"My most recent band was an 80's cover band called Superbang, and I was in a ska band called Hitmen for Hire on Jumpstart Records back in the mid to late 90s and a punk band called Suburban Youth in the early 90's, a hardcore band called Downtime in the mid 90's also."
