Behind the Walls
Date: Oct. 22, 9:37 p.m.
Location: Eastern State Penitentiary
The story: Tucked away in a cell with camera gear and lights, I staked out Eastern State Penitentiary during Terror Behind the Walls while actors in spooky make up and elaborate costumes waited to jump out and scare their victims. This year stands apart, as visitors are allowed to elect how much of a fright they receive behind the Penitentiary walls. Those thirsty for terror wear glow-in-the-dark necklaces that allow the actors to touch these select visitors, forcing some to separate from the comfort of their group.
