hit and run
On-line art gallery The Artesian Well is now up and running, according to Temple University Tyler School of Art metals major Dorothy Danforth, who runs the website with her roommate, electrical engineer Nailah Lowther.
The highly democratic gallery, which shows work by any artists who submit slides or photographs along with a dollar-per-image processing fee, unless it's "seriously pornographic," this month features the work of painters Colleen Corbet, Peter Zhuraw, Robert Roberg, Temple Lee Parker and Rah Crawford, and printmaker Geoffrey DiMasi, as well as Danforth's own work.
Buyers purchase art based on what they see at the website. Artists get 60 percent of the sale, the gallery, 40 percent.
As an added opening attraction, the gallery's having a drawing for a pair of Czanne tickets. E-mail the gallery through Aug. 22 with your name, the name of your favorite work on display in the Well and information about where they can contact you. The drawing will be held on Aug. 22 for guest passes good from Aug. 23 through Sept. 1.
