Stop the review.
Um. Where the hell is Samite's anger? Seriously, why isn't there a least one pissed-off song on the whole CD?
Sure, Embalasasa is a beautiful piece of work, but isn't the appropriate reaction to seeing the faces of dying children to shout obscenities and to put one's fist through the nearest solid object? Is Samite unaware of the fact that for years Uganda implemented a successful ABC ("Abstain, Be faithful or use a Condom") approach to fighting the spread of AIDS until First Lady Janet Musevenian evangelical Christian and internationally acknowledged Queen of the Harpieshenpecked her wimp of a husband into dropping the C? Doesn't Samite know that last year an estimated 30 million condoms sat undistributed on shelves in Ugandan government warehouses? Did no one tell him that over $15 million of the United States' contributions to African AIDS programs has gone to abstinence-only programs, causing Stephen Lewis, the United Nations' special envoy to Africa on AIDS, to accuse the Bush administration of having an "obsessive" and "irrational" preference for abstinence as a preventative measure? Given that, why do the songs on this CD have titles like "Look for the Sunset" and "We Can Do Better" and not "Abstinence Is Easy When You Look Like Mrs. Museveni"?

Considering the ass-backwards results of America's misguided attempt to aid Uganda, a full-tilt "Rummy you're doin' a heck of a job" invasion couldn't do any more damage. At the very least it might be the final straw that makes Samite angry enough to plug in his guitar, crank his amp up to 11, and sing/scream "The USA Took My Rubbers Away."
