English Cheese and Beer Night

Fri., July 6, 6-8 p.m., $50

Wine and cheese expertise might be a feather in France's culinary cap, but look to the U.K. for the perfect beer and cheese combo. Jason Hinds, sales director at London's famous cheesemonger Neal's Yard Dairy, is on loan from across the pond to educate the crowd about his wares. He's paired six cheeses with British beers provided by The Foodery; combos include Mongomery's Cheddar with the Scottish ale SkullSplitter and Isle of Mull with Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA. Reservations required. Di Bruno Brothers, 1730 Chestnut St., 215-665-1659, www.dibruno.com.

Xmas in July
Fri., July 6, 6-9 p.m.

Spread some Christmas cheer and cool down with a winter beer: Northeast Philly's Grey Lodge Pub has been saving barrels of Tröegs Mad Elf, Sly Fox Christmas Ale and Sierra Nevada Celebration since December to wet whistles at this event. Ordering an entrée gets you a free holiday dessert from Hesh's Eclair Bake Shoppe. While Santa Claus might not show up, "People are free to sing Christmas carols," says lodgemaster Scoats. We call "Jingle Bells." Grey Lodge Pub, 6235 Frankford Ave., 215-825-5357, www.greylodge.com.

Farm Fresh Entrée and Dessert
Every Fri. and Sat. through the summer, 4-11 p.m.

You can't get much fresher than just-picked  and that's just how Los Amigos chef Kevin Taylor likes his ingredients. Each Friday and Saturday this summer, he'll highlight what's currently ripe for his farm-fresh entrée and dessert special. For entrees, baby corn and baby spinach from local farms are paired with freshwater shrimp and wild king salmon; dessert-wise, look for blueberry crème brülée and ice cream. Los Amigos, 461 Route 73 N., Berlin, N.J., 856-767-5216, www.losamigosrest.com.

Chaddsford Winery 25th Anniversary
Sun., July 1, 6-10 p.m., $110
