Stenton House Easter Egg Hunt
Sat., March 15, 1-4 p.m., free

Though 2008 will feature the earliest Easter in more than two centuries, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in Pennsylvania can't wait to celebrate. The organization, which presides over Northwest Philly's Stenton House museum, is tricking out the estate for an Easter egg hunt. Guests can color eggs using natural dyes derived from flowers and vegetables — techniques that date back to when Stenton was home to James Logan, secretary to William Penn. Registration required. Stenton House, 601 N. 18th St., 215-329-7312, stenton.org.

St. Patrick's Week Menu at the Irish Pub
Through Mon., March 17

The Irish Pub's grub has been, well, Irish-ed up in anticipation of a certain upcoming holiday. Classic corned beef and cabbage will be served; variations on the boxty (a potato griddle pancake) will be offered daily. Look for Victory Irish Pub Stout and Irish Pub Lager, two beers brewed specifically for the restaurants. The Irish Pub, 2007 Walnut St., 215-568-5603; 1123 Walnut St., 215-925-3311, irishpubphilly.com.

The 2008 Red Ball
Sat., March 15, 8-11 p.m., $150

All proceeds from this year's Red Ball will benefit the Red Cross House, a West Philly home that serves as a temporary residence for disaster victims. More than 30 restaurants will offer food at the party — check out Bombay chicken skewers from Alfa (1709 Walnut St.) and a penne, pine nut, asparagus and sun-dried tomato dish from Illuminare (2321 Fairmount Ave.). Open bar (there'll be beers from Triumph, Sly Fox and Victory) is included in the ticket price. National Constitution Center, 525 Arch St., 215-299-5491, theredball.org.
