Get Out!

Scream Club
Nash Cook

In Cindy Wonderful and Sarah Adorable's electrofunk queendom, Beth Ditto's a reigning R&B diva, Peaches and Mirah represent the dark side, acne's an aphrodisiac and the disco's safe for girls who want to dance with girls. And if boys get turned on in the process? Fair enough, but that's not the point.

Thu., April 17, 8 p.m., $8, with GANG, Sgt. Sass, MC Digga and Beating Hearts, Millcreek Tavern, 4200 Chester Ave., 215-222-1255, millcreektavernphilly.com.

Lez Zeppelin
Michael Goldberg

Chuckle at the name if you must, but make no mistake: Lez Zeppelin is totally serious in its homage to rock's original heavy-metal ensemble. "Kashmir," "Dazed and Confused," "Whole Lotta Love"— Lez Zeppelin kicks it out, with deft chops.

Thu., April 17, 7:30 p.m., $16-$26, World Café Live, 3025 Walnut St. 215-222-1400, worldcafelive.com.

Lou Reed

The last time Lou Reed played the Tower with a grand ensemble (featuring vocalist Antony), the house was half-empty. Lou invented everything you listen to, even MC-ed on "The Original Wrapper." Philly, don't be a bunch of assholes. The ice-dry singer whose detritus-essaying verse is rivaled only by Richard Price's for sheer New Yorkness plays lean guitar runs in front of his tightest band yet. And he's touring for the release of director Julian Schnabel's documentary on Reed's Berlin concept album, so you'll hear the world's saddest songs ever. Go.

Sat., April 19, 8:30 p.m., $39.50, Electric Factory, 421 N. Seventh St., 215-336-2000, livenation.com.

Movie Music of Spike Lee and Terence Blanchard

Much like Ennio Morricone put an indelible stamp on the atmosphere of Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns, so too has Terence Blanchard imprinted his musical mark on the movies of Spike Lee. Blanchard's expansive jazz and R&B talents offered evocative underpinnings to numerous Lee flicks, including Mo' Better Blues, Malcolm X and the so-called "requiem" When the Levees Broke. This performance features images from those and other Lee films, Blanchard's quintet with 20-piece orchestra, special guests (including Musiq Soulchild) plus the bespectacled filmmaker as MC.

Sat., April 19, 8 p.m., $55-$85, Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St., 215-893-1999, kimmelcenter.org.

The Philadelphia Trio

With all due respect to the terrific chamber music series in town, some of the best small-scale music-making occurs when regular pros get together in a church to play for an informal recital. Case in point: the Philadelphia Trio, which plays intriguing programs on a regular basis in Devon. They close their season with music of Fauré, Schubert and the distinguished Philadelphia composer Margaret Garwood.

Sun., April 20, 3 p.m., $11-$13, Main Line Unitarian Church, 816 S. Valley Forge Road, Devon, 610-664-0346, philtrio@aol.com.
