Awesome and out of the ordinary Italian drafts are one of Alla Spina's (1410 Mt. Vernon St.) biggest draws and tonight they're upping the ante with a very special Italian craft beer tasting from 7 to 9:30 p.m. They're bringing in Rome-based food writer Katie Parla to walk guests though a line up that includes Baladin's Nora, Birrificio Italiano's Cassissona, Dogfish Head/Baladin/Borgo collaborative archeo-beer Birra Etrusca, and Lover Beer's D'Uva. Along with samples of these five brews, guest beer nerds will be treated to a brew friendly buffet designed by Alla Spina chef Pat Szoke along with tales of the Italian beer scene happening in Rome. There are still a few tickets left to the event. Get 'em right here.
This Sunday at 7:30 JG Domestic (2929 Arch St.) is hosting a pop up dinner with Ambler's Forest and Main Brewing Company and Tela's Market, the soon to open Fairmount grocery-by-day, family-style-chef's-table-by-night from Garces alum Chad Williams. We've got to say that the beer pairings and menu are looking pretty darn impressive. Here's a look at the menu:
