The emphasis is on free this weekend. They say freedom isn't free, but that really doesn't make very much sense does it? This weekend's omnibus proves it!
Friday: First Friday tonight, so go to Old City and do, you know, that, and maybe some of these. The threat of rain may scare off some civilians, so all the better. More free cheese. When the cheese is gone, head over to the dungeonesque Medusa Lounge for some Excess, which'll start off all Italo and get progressively more electro-y as the night goes on.
Saturday: Philly Spring Cleanup y'all. It's not going away! At least not until the whole city is clean. And that could be awhile. Meanwhile, west of the river, the ginormous new community center/healthy stuff place Studio 34 will be hosting a Wellness Fair from 11-4, with free samples. Of health. And later, Tasty Treats at Fluid has J. Period, remixer of Mary J. Blige and Kanye West among others.
Sunday: Philadelphia's chapter of Jobs with Justice and related groups will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King with a service and rally at Arch Street Methodist, right downtown.
