Remembering Sean Costelloposted by Patrick Rapa Rising blues guitarist/singer Sean Costello is dead at the age of 29. Costello was born in Philly; his family moved to Atlanta when he was 9. This jammy blues-rock stuff might not be your thing, but you gotta admit the kid could play.

I had the honor of meeting Sean while I was a bartender at Darwin’s in Marietta, GA. Although I was “new” to the blues at the time (several years ago), I certainly gained a quick appreciation for this talented young man. I was shocked to learn of Sean’s death in a class on The Blues at Kennesaw State University. When my professor broke the news, the class was in total silence and shock.
Keep playin’ that guitar, Sean and tell Robert Johnson, Muddy, Bessie, Ma and the rest of the blues legends to let you jam with them. God will be pleased. Rest your soul.

Sean was one of a kind, and a nice guy, unassuming and super talented. He cannot be replaced.
