CHIMA BRAZILIAN STEAKHOUSE SET TO OPEN IN THE HEART OF PHILADELPHIA — MAY 27, 2008
Brazilian Churrasco Set to Sizzle With 16 Kinds of Meats
PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 30, 2008) - Chima Brazilian Steakhouse (pronounced "She-ma"), an elegant steakhouse offering a most unique fine dining experience, is set to open in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday, May 27, 2008.
At Chima guests will enjoy Chima’s authentic Brazilian Churrasco (Brazilian Barbeque) served rodizio style- which includes 16 kinds of meat, ranging from filet mignon, pork loin, lamb chops, chicken and salmon all served by authentic "Gauchos." The Gauchos dress in traditional attire and roam from table to table with skewers of piping hot, roasted meat, ready to slice. Gauchos continue to serve each table — until the diner finally says "enough!" by turning the table’s card from orange to black.
Diners can choose between "Rodizio," which includes all the meats and salad bar, or the salad bar option only. The extensive salad bar is easily a full meal with a wide range of American and Brazilian favorites — from salads and oven-fresh breads to soups and deli meats. A full bar provides standard and specialty drinks, with an impressive wine list. Desserts leave diners with a sweet end to the meal and range from ice cream to traditional Brazilian delights.
"Chima is more than just a restaurant, it’s a passion," said Bruno Silva, Owner/Founder of all Chima Brazilian Steakhouses. "The Brazilian culture is intoxicating and vibrant. I wanted to share this excitement with everybody and the best way to do this was to create an authentic Brazilian Steakhouse. I am proud to have another Chima opening — Philadelphia is the perfect city to enhance the uniqueness of Chima."
Silva has spared no expense in creating an ambiance that fits the food. The Gauchos, trained in the family’s Chima Churrascaria, bring an authentic piece of Brazil to Atlanta, outfitted in authentic attire and skilled at this amazing dining concept.
Chima is located 1901 JFK Blvd (corner of 20th & JFK Blvd.) For reservations or more information, please call 215.525.3233 or visit www.chimasteakhouse.com. Chima has been family owned and operated since its opening in 2004. Bruno Silva, the owner/founder of all Chima locations, manages the company’s endeavors. Chima’s flagship location is in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on Las Olas Boulevard, the place in South Florida for the best in dining, shopping and fun. Chima also has locations in Tyson’s Corner in Vienna, VA — just outside of Washington D.C.; Atlanta GA and coming soon Charlotte, NC (Summer 2008).

Three words: Fogo de Chao… Chima, original? unique? I’m not so sure..

Since both Fogo and Chima are chains, I’m interested to see how they’ll stack up. The one distinction I’ve been able to pinpoint so far is that Fogo’s “flip cards” are green and red, while Chima’s are orange and black.
