6. "Blue is the Frequency" — Royal Trux

One time, I read an interview with Stephen Malkmus of Pavement, and in it he talked about how he really dug Royal Trux and how they were an influence on the band. That was enough for me. Their early stuff can be a bit of a chore to get through at times, mainly because they were totally zonked out on heroin when they recorded it, but occasionally they were on point and this song is one of those instances.
