✚ The Other First Friday

First Fridays are not limited to Old City. Venture outside your typical stroll to check out Roxborough-based
artist Albert G. Aldinger III at The Spiral Bookcase in Manayunk. Friday's opening reception
kicks off Aldinger's monthlong showing of his paintings at the store. It's a chance to support a local artist,
discover a new bookstore and snack on good refreshments — all in the heart of Philly's quaint and
beautiful northwest hood. 6 p.m., free, The Spiral Bookcase, 112 Cotton St., thespiralbookcase.com.
