✚ Occupy This Exhibit! #OTE

Whether you call yourself an “occupier” or simply want to learn a little something about the roots of
left-wing movements, get yourself over to “Critical Refusals” — an exhibit now showing at UPenn's
Van Pelt-Dietrich Library. With a display of magazine clippings, books, music albums and political
buttons, the exhibit tells the story of two influential thinkers: German philosopher Herbert Marcuse,
celebrated by many as the “Father of the New Left,” and his student and longtime political activist
Angela Davis, whose many accomplishments include being the third woman to appear on the
FBI's Most Wanted List. This intersection of politics, history, and philosophy offers a unique chance
for some serious self-education, so get yourself over to University City, because the show ends next
Monday. 9 a.m.-5 p.m., free, Van Pelt-Dietrich Library, 3420 Walnut St., first Floor,
library.upenn.edu
.
