Poet-tree en Motion

“Poetry” can be a pretty loose term. There's the stuff that comes in iambic pentameter, there's slam, there's musical lyrics. But poetry can also involve fire-twirling, belly-dancing and performance art. That's the idea behind Poet-tree en Motion, an event series dedicated to expanding the boundaries of creative expression. Housed at the Rotunda — a former Christian Science church that still evokes the calm spirituality of early Roman prayer spaces — this multimedia, multi-artist performance is never the same each time. In honor of Her-Story Month, tonight's edition features an all-female lineup, with appearances by poetesses the Femme-mynistiques and all-female drum ensemble Music Over Matter

7 p.m., free, The Rotunda, 4014 Walnut St., therotunda.org.
