CURATOR: Mosaics, Polaroids and more fiber.

POSTED: Friday, February 24, 2012, 4:00 PM

Art-geek extraordinaire Courtney Sexton presents a weekly selection of Philly's must-see gallery exhibits. This week: Mosaics, Polaroids, and fiber.

“The Last Showing of ‘The Odysseus’” at studio:christensen

Maybe it’s something in the (almost) spring air, but everyone I met during my rounds this week was of the refreshingly amenable sort — super-eager to share their slice of artsy pie with me. Despite his intimidating sense of style, Jt Christensen, founder of Rittenhouse’s studio:christensen, was no exception. Christensen, an interior architect, has transformed an old storefront just off the square into a chic, hip, but very approachable design space that packs a huge punch for its relative size. The studio features a contemporary-furniture showroom, goods by artisans (including one of my personal local faves, Peg and Awl) and a monthly rotation of art exhibits.
