CURTAIN CALL: Focusing on male butts and genitalia

CURTAIN CALL: Focusing on male butts and genitalia

Vintage is always in, but the Drexel Chamber Singers are determined to take retro to a whole new level this weekend during their 22nd annual madrigal dinner. As the audience feasts on a menu plucked straight out of 1582, 18 Drexel students will regale you with sung tales from the late Renaissance. The night’s overarching theme is the threat posed by the entrepreneurial ambitions of the British to the wealthy and domineering Spanish Empire, but if the political intrigues of yesteryear aren’t quite your thing, just chow down and enjoy the singers’ rousing chansons.

Fri., Feb. 24 and Sat., Feb. 25, 7:30 p.m., $21.95, Drexel University Main Building, 3141 Chestnut St., 215-895-1275, madrigal.westphal.drexel.edu.
