CURTAIN CALL: New spins on old favorites

POSTED: Tuesday, March 6, 2012, 1:00 PM

With the Internet rendering Fahrenheit 451 irrelevant (can’t burn down the cloud, right?), Ray Bradbury’s other work is finally getting some long overdue attention. The story of two youth enticed by a sinful Gothic carnival, Something Wicked This Way Comes shows off Bradbury’s flare for the fantastical while maintaining the dark tone of Fahrenheit. To portray the smoke-and-mirrors horror of Bradbury’s novel (which, naturally, takes its name from a Shakespeare quote), Allens Lane Theater will employ puppets alongside flesh-and-blood actors.

March 9-24, $18-20, Allens Lane Art Center, 601 W. Allens Lane, 215-248-0546, allenslane.org.
