CURTAIN CALL: Vicious and entertaining

✚ 48 HOURS

The concept behind Susan Hess Modern Dance’s “48 Hours” reads like someone blended So You Think You Can Dance with Whose Line Is It Anyway?, then replaced Drew Carey and Cat Deeley with people with actual talent (anyone who has watched The Price is Right knows what I’m saying). SHMD resident choreographers Bronwen McArthur, Gabrielle Revlock and Raphael Xavier will create short pieces using a set of limited instructions from their fellow dance mavens. Oh, and since conforming to the whims of others obviously wouldn’t be challenging enough, the choreographers are only given 48 hours to put their pieces together. Since artists both abhor and thrive on limitations, the resulting works are sure to push the boundaries of personal expression.

Sun., Jan. 29, 8 p.m., $15, Performance Garage, 1515 Brandywine St., 215-275-1800, hessdance.org.
