MISS DOCENT: Busted ears, Jewish trees and tattoo flash

POSTED: Thursday, February 9, 2012, 2:00 PM

The National Museum of American Jewish History is currently featuring "In Praise of a Dream," a selection of Israeli photographer Tal Shochat's work on Israeli trees that is appropriate for the recent Jewish holiday Tu B'Shevat (Festival of the Trees). This exhibit raises such issues as our environmental responsibility and the experience of being uprooted from one's homeland, a question posed to Jews and non-Jews alike. The small collection fits nicely with the Museum's core exhibition, which explores how Jewish history and national history are one and the same.

Through April 22, $11-12, National Museum of American Jewish History, 101 South Independence Mall East, 215-923-3811, nmajh.org.
