REEL TIME: Bratty kids, badass bitches and a full-weight Christian Bale

No. 2: If you're in the mood for action this weekend, Sam Adams would suggest Steven Soderbergh's Haywire. Besides calling out the film's star, Gina Carano, for having a "lopsided, mildly fleshy face" (!!), he's giddy about her "brutally satisfying" fight scenes that are "filmed in longish takes and stripped of the audio sweetening that normally makes every punch sound like a car crash." Sounds like she's badass, Sam. I'd take back that fleshy-face comment if I were you. Read the rest of his review here. (Pearl, UA 69th Street, UA Grant, UA Riverview)
