REEL TIME: Madonna screws up a perfectly lovely story and The Rock is gross

No. 6: Screenwriters Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, the team that brought us Valentine's Day, return with another mawkish Feb. 14 jawn. The Vow stars hottie Rachel McAdams as a wife who loses her memory in a car accident, and Tatum Channing as the hubby who has to "re-woo the love of his life." Sounds like an interesting enough concept, but critic Shaun Brady says Kohn and Silverstein "craft each scene like a pledge drive for tears, hectoring, demanding, and guilting the audience to give and give again." Sounds like a Hallmark commercial. Read the rest of his review here. (UA Riverview)
