REEL TIME: Madonna screws up a perfectly lovely story and The Rock is gross

No. 5: Like many gays, I nearly pooped when I heard Madonna was going to make a movie about famed socialite Wallis Simpson. I should have known better, though. (The Material Girl + movies = always sucky.) Critic A.D. Amorosi says the final product "looks like a Calvin Klein commercial and sounds like a glum after-school special." The one saving grace, he says, is Andrea Riseborough, the actress that plays Simpson, who "single-handedly gives the film much-needed electricity." Read the rest of his review here.
