REEL TIME: Madonna screws up a perfectly lovely story and The Rock is gross

No. 1: The Oscar-nominated animated shorts "range from heartwarming to slightly strange." I'm totally placing my bets on William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg's The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, which follows a stack of books that works to cheer up the downtrodden protagonist. "In turn, [Lessmore] dedicates himself to their preservation in an assortment of brief comedies, playing doctor, companion and father to the needy volumes." How cute is that!?! Read about the other oscar-nominated animated shorts here. (Ritz at the Bourse)
