No. 2: Dani Menkin and Yonatan Nir’s Dolphin Boy isn't technically a "new movie," but its one-time Philly screening (Sat., March 3 at 8 p.m.) at the Israeli Film Festival warrants its inclusion on the list. The doc follows an Israeli teen after he's beaten by his classmates and subsequently sent by his father to a protected ecological habitat to undergo "dolphin therapy." Critic Abby Minor says the "story doesn’t need glamour to capture viewers’ emotions. Scenes of father and son sleeping on a rocky beach are enough to sway you before the dolphins work their magic." Besides, dolphins are totally all the rage right now. Right, Hayden Panettiere? Read the rest of Abby's review here. (Franklin Institute)
