SHOWDOWN: Live music in Philly from April 16-22

POSTED: Monday, April 16, 2012, 1:00 PM

Saturday: Experimental dream-folk band Mock Suns is a woven web of fluid electric guitar and spacey female vocals that could be a psychedelic soundtrack to a lucid dream. 9 p.m., $8, North Star Bar, 2639 Poplar St., 215-787-0488. âž¤  New Jersey’s seven-piece Americana roots band Roadside Graves (pictured) is one of those groups that's constantly overlooked. It’s haunting the way lead vocalist/guitarist John Gleason's quavering, shaky voice sings lyrics of death on top of timeless folk instrumentation. 7 p.m., $8, Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N Front St., 215-291-4919.
