SHOWDOWN: Live music in Philly from June 5-9

POSTED: Monday, June 4, 2012, 1:00 PM

SATURDAY: We’ll have a nice taste of Philly rock bands headlined by the Discount Heroes — a no-frills ensemble reminiscent of later nineties pop rock. Among the handful opening up for them is The Ridden Fifths — playing an eclectic mix of funky, bluesy, sometimes eerie but always fun rock 'n' roll. 9:30 p.m., $8-$10, MilkBoy Philly, 1100 Chestnut St., 215-925-MILK. milkboyphilly.com.

Have a live music event you'd like featured in an upcoming Showdown? Email the author at brittany@citypaper.net or tweet her at @WannaB_thomas.
