SHOWDOWN: Live music in Philly from May 29-June 1

POSTED: Tuesday, May 29, 2012, 1:57 PM

Friday:  The Kalob Griffin Band epitomizes Philly folk-rock culture with the country grit of its vocals, the toe-tap-inducing banjo/stand-up bass and drum jams, and of course the beards and flannels. Wilkes-Barre’s most famous bluegrass group Cabinet will open. 7 p.m., $15-17, World Café  Live, 3025 Walnut St., 215-222-1400.
