Scope out the emerging local comics from Temple as they compete against comics from Penn State at the National College Comedy Competition. This is just one matchup among 32 universities going on nationwide. Eight members from each school will have a three-minute set during the showcase. Judges will pick the best four from each team to go on to the next round. Team Temple consists of Tim Ryan, Steve Lipman, Paul Kenton, Jordana Lipsitz, Tyler Clauson-Wolf, Alex Grubard, Chris Whitehair and Matt Kase.

Sun. March 18, 6 p.m., $5, Helium Comedy, 2031 Sansom St., 215-496-9001, rooftopcomedy.com.
