SIDE-SPLITTER: Sharp-witted, raunchy absurdists

POSTED: Thursday, January 26, 2012, 1:00 PM
Filed Under: Comedy Stand-up

Every week, Al Harris brings you the week's top five comedy shows.

Tommy Johnagin brings his brand of autobiographical humor to Helium Comedy Club this weekend. The Illinois-born standup comedian has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman several times and was a contestant on The Last Comic Standing in 2010. In this clip (from a 2008 show at the Helium) Johnagin explains why his wife doesn't cheat on him while he's on the road.

Thu., Jan. 26, 8 p.m., Fri-Sat., Jan. 27-28, 8 and 10:30 p.m., $16-$33, Helium Comedy Club, 2031 Sansom St., www.heliumcomedy.com.
