Every Monday, James Friel rounds up the week's sure-bet live shows.

Tuesday: Managing to create an unusual urban electro-pop-rock sound with hints of Prince, U.K. rapper Theophilus London (pictured) debuted last summer with his first full-length, Timez are Weird. Johnny Brendas, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 215-739-9684. ➤ British singer Rumer has an easy-breezy voice that’s eerily similar to the late Karen Carpenter. Her most-recent release, 2010’s Seasons of My Soul is an interesting retro take on soft-pop. 7:30 p.m., $18, World Café Live, 3025 Walnut St., 215-222-1400.
