Wednesday: Rebirth Brass Band (pictured) is a funky, ass-shaking jazz group that has been an institution of New Orleans since their formation in 1983. Their latest album, Rebirth of New Orleans, is Grammy-nominated. 8 p.m., $20, Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St., 215-232-2100. ➤ The post-punk country band Peter Joseph and The Roaring Twenties produced one toe-tapper after another on their 2010 release Colorful, which has punk chord structures, mellow rhythms, country instrumentation and the occasional string accompaniment. 8 p.m., $8, The North Star Bar, 2639 Poplar St., 215-787-0488. ➤ Member of the Harlem-based rap group ASAP Mob, ASAP Rocky is one of hip-hop’s brightest new stars, who has a New York confidence, cockiness and grit to him but his style is universal and historically encompassing. 8 p.m., $19, TLA, 334 South St., 215-922-1011.
