THE SHOWDOWN: An all-night psychedelic dance party

Thursday: Once a humble Santa Monica street performer, Andy Grammer is now a pop-soul artist with a silky voice who is nearing platinum-record status with his debut, self-titled release. 8 p.m., $12-$20, World Cafe Live, 3025 Walnut St., 215-222-1400. ➤ Belgian DJ/producer Vito DeLuca (aka Aeroplane) is a one-man band who mixes synths and guitars with dance beats. The end product is his latest album We Can’t Fly, a retro-fitted, late-seventies disco swing. 10 p.m., $5-$8, Voyeur Nightclub, 1221 Saint James St., 215-735-5772. ➤ A band that tours in a big red school bus running on vegetables is going to be a little freaky. Lighthouse Music is an experimental Florida-based quintet with multi-instrumentalist members who sound like swampy, country-cabaret music inspired by Tom Waits. 8 p.m., $8, Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., 215-291-4919. ➤ The girl group with the blissed-out-buzzsaw ’60s sound, Dum Dum Girls (pictured), released their latest album this fall. Only in Dreams showcases lead singer Dee Dee’s contralto vocal range. 8:30 p.m., $10, Voyeur Nightclub, 1221 Saint James St., 215-735-5772.
