THE SHOWDOWN: Live music in Philly from March 19-25

POSTED: Monday, March 19, 2012, 2:00 PM

Saturday: Established in 1981, Psychic TV is a band that has been consistently inventive over the years, mixing psychedelic, punk and electronic. A single song can begin as punk and end as a spaced-out, psychedelic frenzy. 9 p.m., $17, Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 215-739-9684. ➤ Local legend of underground hip-hop, Reef The Lost Cauze (pictured), is a battle-tested MC with gritty, graphic rhymes and murderous beats. With the release of his latest album, Your Favorite MC, Reef stays true to his innovative style. 8 p.m., $10, Theatre of Living Arts, 334 South St., 215-922-1011.
