FRIDAY: “Less is more” is a theory that that works for Lorraine Leckie and her backing band, the Demons. Leckie is an honest and heavily poetic NYC-based artist with a gypsy-folk style. 8 p.m., $8-$10, MilkBoy Coffee, 2 E. Lancaster Ave., 610-645-5269. ➤ Indie folk-rock artist Lauryn Peacock is a part of the Philly Folk Scene. 7 p.m., Connie’s Ric Rac, 1132 S. Ninth St., 215-279-7587. ➤ So glamorous! The Brooklyn-based electronic-pop group, Class Actress (pictured), is lofty and sparkling synth-pop that’s driven by the delicate voice of frontwoman Elizabeth Harper and catchy late-’80s song structure. 9:30 p.m., $10-$12, Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 215-739-9684.
