THE SHOWDOWN: Melting faces and supporting the community

SATURDAY: Anointed “the new Dylan” back in the late-’70s, Steve Forbert has a unique, folk sensibility that’s also attractive to pop listeners. 8 p.m., $25, Sellersville Theater, 24 W. Temple Ave., 215-257-5808. ➤ If the Allman Brothers Band and the Jaimoe Jasssz Band were in town and you had to choose between them like they were your two favorite deserts, one could make a compelling argument that Jaimoe (former ABB drummer) and his band sound better doing ABB songs than the ABB themselves. 8 p.m., $33, TLA, 334 South St., 215-922-1011. ➤  “Opera pop” is an uncommon genre that Elizaveta (pictured) completely embodies due to her formal background studying the genre, and attraction toward creating music that’s more pop than Bach. 7:30 p.m., $15, Tin Angel, 20 S. Second St., 215-928-0770.
