THE SHOWDOWN: Moody, a little dark and multi-genred

Friday: Though they’re from Yardley, Pa., the Levee Drivers appear to be representing West Texas with their no-nonsense, straight-driving approach to country rockabilly. 9 p.m., $8, The Trocadero, 1003 Arch St., 215-922-6888. ➤ The psych-folk trio, Akron/Family (pictured), is a group that’s anything but conventional with their blend of folk/rock/alternative with three-part harmonies. 9 p.m., $10-$13, The Blockley, 3801 Chestnut St., 215-222-1234. ➤ The English band, Fujiya & Miyagi, is similar to the Gorillaz in that they’re moody, a little dark and multi-genred. However, they’re a little more experimental. 9:30 p.m., $12, Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 215-739-9684. ➤ Listening to the Wallace Brothers Band makes you feel like you’re in the Bert Reynolds’ classic Smokey in the Bandit, with a mustache and all. 9:30 p.m., Dawson Street Pub, 100 Dawson St., 215-482-5677.
