TO-DO LIST: Event picks for April 25-May 1

The 2012 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival is getting under way, and this week's movie Monday offering at the Troc appropriately follows suit with a double feature. The Giant Mechanical Man boasts a slew of heads you'll recognize from TV, but Death of a Superhero brims with the most promise, starring a non-CGI Andy Serkis as a caped crusader for a terminally kid hoping for a better tomorrow.

Mon., April 30, 6:30 & 10 p.m., $3, The Trocadero, 1003 Arch St., thetroc.com.
