TO-DO LIST: Step closer to the cliff and revel a bit

OLDE CITY SIDESHOW: Friday the 13th can stir up wide swaths of anxiety in folks, so why not step a little closer to the edge of the cliff and revel a bit. There are certainly other places to get your kicks, but there aren't many other events promising "steel hooks placed into eyelids" and dudes swallowing light bulbs and lit cigarettes. Fri., Jan. 13, 10 p.m., National Mechanics, 22 S. 3rd St., 215-701-2701, nationalmechanics.com.
