Mural in process. Yours could be soon.
If the only thing standing between you and that masterpiece you've been envisioning is a little cash, then your dreams may begin manifesting soon. Knight Arts, a funding program for emerging artists, has about $9 million that they're dying to give away. All you have to do is submit a quick, 150-word application — oh, and have a good idea that keeps in line with these three little rules:
  • It has to be about the arts
  • The project must either happen in, or benefit the city of Philadephia
  • And you must find other funding to match the Knight Foundation grant (Grandpa?)
The Knight Foundation created this challenge in the attempt to transform the city through art. Whether it's sculpture, a dance piece or a mural, they're hoping to inspire local artists, institutions and organizations to create something to make Philadelphia a more inspiring, artistically-driven metropolis. Click HERE to get your application started. You only have until Oct. 31, so you better get on the ball. Remember, that big ol' sky above your head is the limit. Have you done it yet? Huh, huh, huh?
