The Milkmen practicing for this year's Halloween show.

City Paper freelance crush John Vettese is a jack-of-all artistic trades (writing the Full Exposure column, this week's feature on Drink Up Buttercup and a ridic amount more), but he also produces the Local Tracks Sessions on YRock. In honor of the Vettese's 50th session, he took on the Philly greats the Dead Milkmen, featuring another CP contrib: Rodney Anonymous. The punkers did a mix of old and new songs and sat down for an interview with Local Tracks host Jack Rabid.

The session airs this Sunday, March 7, on the Philly local show between 7 and 9 p.m. at YRockONXPN.org.

The Milkmen sesh is set to launch the new Local Tracks podcast. Here's what the Flying V had to say:

Recording these studio sessions and giving these bands play on the internet airwaves is cool, for sure, but it's also a fleeting thing. The podcast is gonna be great because it'll keep all the performances - which, oftentimes, are kinda amazing - archived and available to listeners who understandably might not be at their computer at 8 p.m. every Sunday night. I look at it as bigger and more sustained exposure for local artists I love.

A.D. Amorosi has more in this week's Icepack, including the names of some very exciting upcoming acts.
