I have stumbled upon the most amazing thing.

Internet archive of The Minutemen live at Philly's old The Love Club, Dec. 16, 1983.

Listen and love.

Like another generation reminiscing about Peps (Show Bar) this was @ the Love Club @ "13th" and South(f). A double bill with the Husker Du. D Boon was channeling some energy.... need anyone say more?

Kats were going off; balcony jumps; a spikey goddesses or two atop the amp stacks etc........and to think, all prior to the release of 2x nickles on the dime.

The Wannamaker's organ was then permanently out of tune.

Cannot be replicated.

This was my first hard core show. I was a junior at Temple. Love had already burnt and the place was freezing until the band played. D Boon was pogoing so intensely on the stage that the whole place shook. I do remember someone diving off the balcony.

Unbelievable energy at this show. I was beyond stunned at the Minuteman's power. D Boon was a huge loss.

I remember I wore my Grateful Dead tour shirt from 1977 and someone tried to make fun of it, and D. Boon,(at least I remember it being him) gallant as always, said you can bitch about them when you've been around almost 20 years. i felt so justified

I used to go down to all the Love Hall gigs with my friends from Harrisburg. I remember this show, it was colder than hell, but the Minutemen, as always were incredible! Somewhere there are videos of all the old Philly gigs, I'd love to see them again.
