ON THE FRINGE: Win two tickets to The Real Housewives of South Philly — WE HAVE A WINNER!

POSTED: Friday, September 10, 2010, 5:30 PM
The genius Waitstaff sketch comedy troupe has struck hilarious gold with the Real Housewives of South Philly concept — it's the perfect storm of reality-TV butchering and Soufilly making-fun. We've got a pair of tickets to Tuesday's show, and we want yous to have 'em. But first, check out Deni Kasrel's review:
An adroit skewering of pretentious thespians, the Fringe Festival (not that the two are mutually exclusive) and South Philly society (if it may be so called), this show is a fine-tuned hoot. The headline characters, a trio of foul-mouthed housewives, bicker and gossip and head off to the viewing of recently deceased friend "to get something to eat." One bit features a send-up of the Tea Party movement that I daren't spoil. Recurring themes weave in and out and punch lines fly. There's a whopper at the end. Maybe you saw it coming, but it's still funny.
To win two tickets to the Tuesday, September 14, 8 p.m. show at L'Etage, answer the following trivia question:

Where did the name for the South Philly neighborhood of Newbold come from?

E-mail me at carolyn.huckabay@citypaper.net for a chance to win! [UPDATE, Mon., Sept. 13, 9:40 a.m.]: Congratulations to CritMass reader Charmaine, who correctly answered that Newbold is the former name of South Philly's Hicks Street.
