THE SHOWDOWN: Live music in Philly from July 31-Aug. 5

POSTED: Tuesday, July 31, 2012, 12:00 PM

Friday: It's not often you find a female-fronted harcore band that will make your blood curdle in a good way, but Punch is definitely packin' heat with lead singer Meghan O'Neil's fits of raging intensity. Hailing from San Francisco, Cali., this fast and heavy, vegan-friendly group will be tearin' it up at one of Fishtown's oldest, former Peagan biker bars. 7 p.m., $8-10, The Barbary, 951 Frankford Ave., 215-634-7400.
