The 1-Upper: Putt Base

Get out your plaid knickers and argyle socks

It's time for some golf! Think mini golf couldn't get any better? Well, you're wrong because it just did. The best thing about the physics-based puzzle game Putt Base is that someone took something as simple as computer-based mini golf and threw in elements of The Incredible Machine, like ramps and springs, allowing you to edit the course as you see fit.

The premise of the game is the same as regular golf, except that you only get one shot to get the ball in the hole. You'll get a set number of pieces to throw into the field, mostly ramps at 45-degree angles and little quarterpipes to redirect the ball. I found, though, that the slapdash approach to tossing pieces around the board actually works, much to my high-school physics teacher's dismay, I'm sure.

Check out Putt Base here.
