"Look how adorable I am,"
says Andrew Bird

Every Monday, The Showdown tells you who to see and where to see ‘em.

Monday: It’s MLK Day. Get out and volunteer!

Tuesday: Tim Kasher and his crew (aka Cursive) rock the Barbary. This one’s sold out so Get Your Barack On with us instead.

Wednesday: Canadian punks play KFN. Fucked Up at KungFu Necktie. With Pissed Jeans. Doors at 9 p.m., tickets are $10

Thursday: Supporting November’s Secrets Are Sinister, indie rock four piece Longwave take the stage. At Johnny Brenda’s. With Colourmusic & the Cobbs. Doors at 9 p.m., tickets are $10

Friday: Experimental art rockers go totally avant-garde with aural noise-core tracks. Drums Like Machine Guns at Copy Gallery. With Snowstorm, My Mind & Kick Rocks. Doors at 8 p.m., tickets are $5.

Saturday: Still upset about Led Zeppelin breaking up? Cheer up, Get the Led Out does a pretty good cover the former Brit rockers’ set. At the Electric Factory. Doors at 8:30 p.m., $19.50-22.50

Sunday: Andrew Bird’s Nobel Beast came out on Tuesday. Whistling and hum along at the TLA. Doors at 8:00 p.m., tickets $25

Why is there no mention of Sam Mcpheeters on this gig? He was the singer for Born Against, for christ sake and the main attraction.
