Thursday night was Invasion of the Brooklynites.

Openers Fang Island wowed the crowd with a lurid avalanche of crashing riffs, their sound a stelmusiclar head-on collision of post-hardcore aggression and all the melodic perks of indie rock. Featuring a pecuiliar admixture of vocalized disillusionment and tiny flecks of hope and contemplation, Chairlift's set included a healthy portion of tracks from this year's Does You Inspire You.

Then Yeasayer took the stage, starting things right with the mystical ebb and flow of "Waves." Surrounded by their signature ever-changing array of illuminated orbs and stage ornaments, it didn't take long for the foursome to send the crowd into jubilant foot-stomping hand-clapping mode via the eastern folksy vibes of "Wait for the Summer." Smack dab in the middle of their set, "2080," off All Hour Cymbals, did well in conjuring up a trippy zeitgeist through the narrative of the song  ("I can't sleep when I think about the times we're living in/ I can't sleep when I think about the future I was born into"). Running a little short on time, Yeasayer ended their second-to-last tour date of the year by settling into the tribal beats and chantology of "Sunrise."
