Maybe you read my cover story on U.S. Girls and thought, "huh. wonder what she sounds like, exactly." Well, check out this video for what might be her most instantly accessible track. Good song. Good video.

Reminds me of Salvador Dali's "Geopoliticus" actually!

Diplo and Al Bundy: A match made in heaven.
Thank you for this avoidantconsumer. A million times thank you.
fanfuckingtastic!
Molly, will you help me make a shot-by-shot remake of this scene?
I can't get enough of Ted Leo's version of Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," which is apparently Teddy L.'s fave song because used to listen to it with his pops (aww! Cute attack!).
It's all part of the AV Club's Undercover series. Every Tuesday, various artists choose one song to cover from a predetermined list. It all takes place in one tiny round room that the band then John Hancocks. Choices range from current (MIA's "Paper Planes") to totally ridic (Billy Squier's "Everbody Wants You," Starship's "We Built this City") to classic (Hall & Oates' "One on One").
Of course, I'm waiting with bated breath for who covers Bruce Springsteen's "Atlantic City," considering how well it lends itself to covers (The Hold Steady did an incredible one for the War Children comp) and its the motherfucking Boss. I would totally love some Titus Andronicus on that track. They could up the scuzz-factor and make it a New Jerz vs. Old Jerz battle of the ages.
See any other songs on that list that would pair up well with another current band?

Just got word from our neighbor, Quirk Books, that they've dropped the trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls, a prequel to the crazy-famous PPZ, on their YouTube channel.
Chock-full of Bennet sisters in pastel frocks screaming "hi-ya!" and polite Englishmen eating brains, this book trailer has serious potential for a movie. What say you, Natalie Portman?

Friend of Crit Mass Clay sent us this video of Charm City band Teeth Mountain's appearance on an episode of Judge Judy. Member Kate Levitt charges defendant John Coward with killing her cat in a drunken haze. Love Levitt's line about not knowing the days of the week 'cause she's a musician.
We're all for hilarious publicity stunts (even if the tip about the video itself is included under the publicity stunt umbrella, considering Teeth Mountain plays Danger Danger Gallery on March 1). But even more than that, we love stickin' it to Judge Judy (you heard me).
Wham City not Charm City
Oh NVM I understand lol
So people are shitting themselves about Snowmageddon 47.0 but I'm all cool, calm and collected. Why? Because I've got American Gladiators to keep me warm, that's why. Hulu has the entire first run of the show, meaning this discovery is the greatest thing to happen to me this week (considering American Idol just went into Top 24 mode, that's saying a lot).
You're welcome.

It's so great. What makes it even better is the judge on the first season of American Gladiators appears to be an executioner.
